At BlackCanvas Studio, we curate light as a sculptural material. Each piece is engineered to the highest standards of safety and aesthetic durability. This Limited Warranty ensures that your investment is protected against manufacturing defects and structural failures.

1. WARRANTY PERIODS

BlackCanvas Studio provides a tiered warranty system based on the components of the luminaire:

2. SCOPE OF COVERAGE

This warranty covers the original purchaser of the product and is non-transferable unless specified in a contract for hospitality projects.

2.1 What is Covered:

• Manufacturing Defects: Flaws in the craftsmanship that impede the aesthetic or functional performance of the piece.

• Electrical Failure: Failure of internal components under normal residential use and voltage conditions.

• Structural Failure: Warping, cracking, or failure of load-bearing sculptural elements.

2.2 What is NOT Covered (Exclusions):

• The “Artisan Signature”: Minor air bubbles in hand-blown glass, slight variations in stone texture, or natural variations in wood grain are characteristics of the material and are not considered defects.

• Natural Patination: We often use “living finishes” (unlacquered brass, copper). The natural darkening or oxidation of these metals over time is an intended aesthetic evolution and is not covered.

• Environmental Damage: Damage caused by exposure to extreme humidity, coastal salt air (unless the piece was rated for outdoor use), or corrosive cleaning agents.

• Power Surges: Damage resulting from fluctuations in the local power grid. We strongly recommend the use of high-quality surge protectors for all luxury lighting installations.

• Bulbs: Standard consumable light bulbs (GU10, E27, etc.) provided with the fixture are not covered under warranty.

3. THE INSTALLATION CLAUSE (CRITICAL)

BlackCanvas Studio luminaires are sophisticated architectural installations. * This warranty is void if the product is installed by an unlicensed or unqualified electrician.

• Damage caused by improper mounting, incorrect voltage connection, or failure to follow the provided “Installation Guide” is the sole responsibility of the patron.

• We reserve the right to request a copy of the professional installation invoice/certificate to validate a warranty claim.

4. WARRANTY CLAIM PROCESS

Step 1: Notification

Within the warranty period, any suspected defect must be reported to our Pune atelier via email at contact@blackcanvas.com with high-resolution photographs and a video of the malfunction.

Step 2: Assessment

Our technical team will review the evidence. We may require the component (e.g., the LED driver) or the entire fixture to be shipped back to our Pune studio for forensic analysis.

Step 3: Resolution

If the claim is valid, BlackCanvas Studio will, at its sole discretion:

1. Repair the component using original or upgraded parts.

2. Replace the fixture with an identical model.

3. Credit: If the model is discontinued, provide a studio credit toward a new sculptural piece of equal value.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, BlackCanvas Studio’s liability is limited to the repair or replacement of the product. We are not liable for:

• Costs associated with the de-installation or re-installation of the fixture.

• Scaffolding or specialized equipment rental for high-ceiling installations.

• Incidental or consequential damages (e.g., loss of use of a room).

6. MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS

To maintain the validity of this warranty, patrons must adhere to the BlackCanvas Care Guide:

• Clean only with a dry, lint-free microfiber cloth.

• Never use ammonia-based cleaners or chemical polishes.

• Avoid placing luminaires in direct contact with high-output HVAC vents.
